Thank you Boo Crew For 17 Magically Excellent Years
Born in 2009, the “Boo Crew” (aka the Magic Castle’s Halloween Committee) is a motley crew of Magic Castle members and member-adjacent creators. Including prop builders, set designers, engineers, carpenters, painters, designers, and many volunteers not in the arts’ industries.
These volunteers spend 10 months to a year volunteering their time to achieve the themed Halloween Event at the world-famous Magic Castle. The execution of which includes planning, creating, installing, maintaining, and removing every aspect of Halloween.
We are truly blessed to have such a talented crop of people who donate so much time and, sometimes, literal blood, sweat, and tears to make the transformation happen. Their time and talent is truly the treasure of the club’s Halloween celebration.
This year we had over 160 active volunteers, 104 of which put in a total of 1,832 hours just to get us installed this year. We are incredibly proud of our crew, and all the time, heart, and teamwork that went into creating all the work of this year and all the years before. However, it has become increasingly obvious to us that we will not be continuing on as we have for the past 16 years.
While we have no official information from MCE about their Halloween intentions, we understand the previous agreement and situation of the Boo Crew will no longer be an option. We wish the AMA and MCE a great future in whatever they wish to do to celebrate Halloween in 2026! So with the ending of this year so concludes the Boo Crew Committee. It's been an honor to serve as your Halloween Decor Team for sixteen years. We thank you, and all the members for the opportunity, the joy, and the trust you have put into us year after year.
